(Dr) Helen Day is a senior lecturer in English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, OK. She became a National Teaching Fellow in 2013 for her work on employability in the humanities and writing for children. Her current research and teaching interests are writing for children and young adults, portal fantasy, unreliable narration, fairy tales and science fiction and fantasy. She has also published pedagogic research on employability and teaching on the language-literature border as well as writing about food and cookery in relation to literary theory.
