Jonathan Colman

Senior Lecturer in International History

School of Humanities, Language and Global Studies

British foreign policy, American foreign policy, The Second World War, The Cold War, The Cuban Missile Crisis

Jonathan is a historian of British and American foreign policies, and Anglo-American relations, during the Second World War and the Cold War. He has a particular interest in the contributions of individual diplomats and special representatives. He is the special issues editor of The International History Review and the book reviews editor of Diplomacy and Statecraft. He is also a former Archives By-Fellow at the Churchill Archives Centre, University of Cambridge.

His qualifications are: PhD in International History, University of Liverpool; MA with Distinction in International Studies, University of Leeds; PGCE in Further, Adult and Higher Education, Manchester Metropolitan University; BA Combined Honours Class One, Liverpool Institute of Higher Education. Jonathan is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
